This week is the last full week of Winter Intersession at El Camino College. And, thanks to the magic of budget cuts, it will be our last, until further notice.
My sole class was Art 195 – Portfolio Development and Artists Career Issues. It has been a great class; the time really flew by. During the past five weeks I have learned:
The art of the personal presentation (slow down and stop fidgeting!)
The art of the resume (keep it brief; keep it relevant)
The value of the cover letter (let ’em know what they’re gettin’!)
The necessity of networking (it’s what you know AND who you know)
As I prepare to enter Spring semester, juggling all my art and business classes, I am so glad that I had these past five weeks to really figure out where I’m going and how to get there!
Now go follow your bliss…
